Payment Inquiries

  1. Do you offer a payment program? 

We do not. Full payment of the program fee is due prior to the beginning of classes.

  1. If this online program isn't working for me, can I get a refund?

Yes, if you determine this program isn't a good fit for you within 3 weeks of classes, you will get a refund minus 25% for administrative costs.

  1. Do you take insurance? Or HSA?

We do not. 

  1. Can I pay for and sponsor someone other than myself to take this class?

You sure can!

Class Structure

  1. Can I use my phone to attend class?

No.  You may not attend the class on your phone.  You will need to use a computer or tablet to attend so that you will have enough screen space available to interact with all of the group members.

  1. What should I do to prepare for the first class?

a. Make sure Zoom is updated on your device. You don’t need a paid Zoom account to join the group, you just need to be able to sign into zoom. 

b. Ensure that you have identified a private, distraction-free space, which you will regularly be able to use during the scheduled class time. 

c. Ensure that you have reliable internet with enough data to attend a two-hour live zoom event without interruption. 

d. To stay present and engaged, you should mute notifications, silence phones, and focus fully on the conversation. Walking outside, working out, or eating a meal while attending is inappropriate for the group environment. Additionally, attending while under the influence of non-prescription medication or alcohol is a violation of terms. 

  1. Do I have to turn my camera on and microphone on?

Yes, it’s important to keep your camera on (and pointed toward your face) during the group to show your engagement and respect for others. Please mute your microphone when you're not speaking to reduce any background noise.

  1. Can I attend class from work or while watching my kids?

You may attend from any place that ensures a private space that is free of distractions. Not a public place, not your vehicle, and not in a shared space in your home. You should not attend while also caretaking or with anyone else in the room.

  1. What can I expect from class?

The general structure will consist of 4 parts: 1) Mindfulness practice, 2) Check-in with another, 3) Activity planned by your facilitator, 4) Check-out / Grounding practice

  1. How early will the Zoom room be open?

Your facilitator will open the Zoom room 15 minutes before the start of class so that you can get any questions answered or get to know the other members of your group. 

  1. How long is each class?

2 hours.

  1. Will there be breaks?

Yes, you'll get a short break halfway through each session. 

13. Will class end at the scheduled time?

There are  times when the class is deeply engaged and the conversation may continue past the scheduled end time, but you are always free to leave at the scheduled end time.

  1. Will I need to share personal information in class?

You are always in control of how much or how little you choose to share. Since this class is designed to explore personal trauma, we encourage you to reflect on what that means for you at your own pace. To support emotional safety in this space, the class size is intentionally kept small. It is most beneficial for all participants to engage in a similar depth of sharing, ensuring a balanced and meaningful experience for everyone.

  1. Will there be homework?

Yes. You can expect to engage in some reflective work outside of group sessions. Unlike traditional school assignments, the emphasis here is on depth and personal insight rather than writing style, spelling, or other formal criteria. Your facilitator values thoughtful reflection over technical precision.

  1. Can I switch facilitators if I don't get along with mine?

No. We do not accommodate requests to switch facilitators, as the continuity and trust built within the group are essential to the integrity of the process and the progress of all participants.

Attendance & Schedules

  1. What is your attendance policy?

In order to complete the program, you are required to attend at least 22 of the 24 sessions at meeting time. You will be required to make up any missed sessions by reviewing the material and completing the work that corresponds with the missed sessions.

  1. What if I have to be late?

You are expected to make each session on time. Please choose a time that works for your schedule.

  1. What if my schedule changes and I need a different schedule?

We want to set you up for success and this will be handled on a case by case basis. 

Confidentiality & Legal Issues

  1. Is this class a certified BIP program?

Yes, This program meets the requirements of a certified Battering Intervention Program in the state of Wisconsin and is run by certified treatment providers.

  1. Who will know I'm taking this class?

If you are legally mandated to take this class, we will share your enrollment information with the entities that are requiring your participation. No one else will know unless you choose to share that information yourself.

  1. How much information do you report to my lawyer, the court, the judge, etc.?

At the conclusion of your class, Zelia will provide a basic completion report to the entity mandating your participation and describe your level of engagement, ranging from “(1) Engaged, introspective, and showed up with vulnerability” to “(3) Was physically present for all classes but did not actively engage.” We will not share the content of what you share with the class or privately with any Zelia staff member.

  1. Will you testify in court either against me or on my behalf?

No. 

Is This Program for Me?

  1. I am not mandated to take a BIP class, but I’m interested in something like this. Can I enroll?

Yes, absolutely, we welcome self-referrals.

  1. Are there any groups in-person?

The 12-week, 24-session group is only available online. If you prefer an in-person experience, consider the Intensive option which is in-person and consolidated into 5 full days at a Unfragile Farm retreat center near Sheboygan, WI.

  1. I think my partner / friend / family member would also benefit from this group. Can they join me for a session or 2?

No. Only enrolled members of the group are permitted to attend sessions.

  1. Is this class gender-specific? 

Yes, there are different groups for men and women. 

  1. I'm non-binary or transgender. Do you have services for me?

Zelia currently isn’t able to offer a specific group that centers people who are gender-variant. We welcome you to our services and recommend that you join a group that feels most appropriate for you.

  1. I am gay, lesbian, bi, or queer. Is this group appropriate for me?

Yes, the work that is done in this group is appropriate for all sexual orientations and all types of romantic relationships.

  1. Do you offer groups in languages other than English?

At this time we are not able to offer classes in languages other than English. 

Additional Support

  1. Can I get additional support from my facilitator outside of the group meeting if I need it?

Yes, arrangements can be made for you to access additional services from a specialist, coach or therapist on staff.

32. Is there a program like this for my partner?

Yes, your partner is welcome to do a similar program for a discounted rate within 1 year of your class start date.

  1. Could my partner and I take this course together?

We have additional services designed for couples if you’re interested in diving deeper into this work together.  In order to be eligible for the additional services both you and your partner must complete a full session of individual work.
